Ranma 1/2 Info

Ranma 1/2 is the show of a boy with a strange curse, forced to marry and live with another family he hardly knows. As the plot continues in the series, you meet new characters, each making Ranmas life more and more difficult like Happosai, the perverted training master who steals the girls' underwear, or Cologne, the crazed grandmother who knows everything and Ukyou, the food martial artist, turned down to marraige by Ranma. Below is the main characters and info on them.

Ranma:

Ranma is a string of bad luck. First, his parents leave each other when he's just a baby and is then raised by his Fiance crazed father who drags him around the world to become a great martial artist. His luck gets worse when his father takes him to Jusenkyo. There he falls into the pool of Nyannichaun where a young red haired girl drowned 1500 years before. Now, went he's touched by cold water, he becomes a girl and warm water makes him a guy again. He luck doesn't get much better when he goes to live with the Tendos and gets engaged to the most tomboyish, male hating girl in all of Japan named Akane. Later, a boy named Kuno falls in love with his girl half, making his luck even worse.

Akane:

Akane Tendo is the youngest in the Tendo houshold. She has a life dedication to hate adn beat up all boys who piss her off. she also fell into a string of bad luck. The best fighterat her school, Kuno, fell in love with her adn got all the other boys to tag along. For a while, she had to fight her way to class every morning. (the boys believed if they beat her, they got a date with her) Her father arranged for her to be engaged to Ranma though she was secretly in love with Dr. Tofo. She got over that. Now her newest battle is to get rid of and toture Ranma as much as she can, though there are a few nice moments. She fills her spare time with beating up adn tranforming Ranma.

Kasumi:

Kasumi is the oldest of the Tendo daughters and is the best cook in the houselhold. (Don't eat Akane's unless you want your stomach pumped!) Dr. Tofo is secretly in love with her and she is the mosty polite of the sisters and is the least violent. It's hard to believe she adn Akane are sisters.

Nabiki:

Nabiki is the problem middle child (and I mean problem!). Shhe is always trying to find a way to make some extra cash, even if its at the expense of peoples she knows and cares about. Her favorite way of making cash is by torturing "Kuno baby" or taking bets on Ranma's fights.

Genma:

Genma is Ranma's father. His wife left him to tend for his son who he dragged around the world to become a great martial artist. He arranged for his son to be engaged to his friend, Soun Tendo's daughter Akane. Genma was kicked into the pool of Shonmaoniichuan at Jusenkyo. Now, he becomes a panda in cold water and himself in warm.

Soun Tendo:

(Guy on right) Mr. Tendo is a good father but he can be a crybaby. He is a good martial artist but prefers to solve arguments with words as opposed to fists, though he still lets Akane and Ranma fight. He is the father of Kasumi, Nabiki and Akane.

Shampoo:

Shampoo is a crazed Chinese Amazon, always trying to marry boy from Ranma and kill girl form Ranma.

After leaving Jusenkyo, Ranma was still in girl from and his father in panda form. They stole food from ths champions table of an Amazon villaga just after Shampoo was given the title. Ranma, not wanting to give up the food, challenged Shampoo and won. Following the traditions of the tribe, Shampoo gave Ranma the kiss of death.

If an Amazon is beaten by a foriegner girl, they must hunt her down and kill her. If its a boy, the Amazon marries him. While trying to kill girl from Ranma, Ranma tries to get rid of Shampoo by showing her that girl form and boy form is the same person. Now, Shampoo tries to kill one form and marry the other. Somehow, Shampoo fell into the pool of Maoniichaun, where a pink cat drowned 1800 years ago at Jusenkyo. Now, she too transforms.

Ryouga:

Ryouga and Ranma attended an all boy academy together when they were young. Everyday, when there would be one piece of bread left, Ranma would always beat Ryouga to it.

Feeling cheated, Ryouga challenged Ranma to a fight behind his house. Because of his bad sense of direction, Ryouga traveled all over Japan to find the lot behind his house. When he got there four days later, Ranma had left to China with his dad.

Still willing to settle the score, Ryouga followed them to Jusenkyo. There, he was knocked into a the pool of Heituenniichuan by a red haired girl and a panda. This was a pool where a black pig drowned 1200 years before and now he transforms into a little black pig.

When Akane found him as a pig, she kept him as the pet she named P-Chan or "pig cute."

Tatewaki Kuno:

Kuno is (or was) the best martial artist at Ranma and Akane's school. He is in love with Akane and Ranma's female side adn can never decide between the two. He chases, hugs and gives the two flowers all the time. He has a tendency to carry around a bokuto that he swings at everyone.
